With The Lanyon Restoration Project at Queen’s University Belfast due to complete in the coming weeks, we will be moving to another ‘’Lanyon Building’’ having been appointed to undertake specialist conservation works at St Philips & St James Church in Holywood, Co. Down.
Work will be undertaken over the next 7 months and will include dismantling and rebuilding section of stonework on the Spire and Tower, refurbishment and some replacement of cast iron pipes and gutters, new lead weatherings, timber louvre repairs and structural metal member replacement to the Tower and Spire.
The Church was designed by one of Belfast’s most prominent and influential architects of the Victorian era, Sir Charles Lanyon.
